Kristen Welch is someone I admire a lot. Her first book, “Raising Grateful Kids in an Entitle World” changed the way I view parenting and motivated me to really be intentional with my goals for my sons. I had an opportunity to review her latest book, “Raising World Changers in a Changing World” and I was so impressed. Big thanks to Baker Books for gifting me a copy of this book! While the book was given to me, the opinions are all mine.
Raising World Changers in a Changing World is my favorite parenting resource of 2018. This book is so inspiring and will make you want to give everything. The Welch family lives what they preach and it’s impacting the world in all the best ways. I loved reading stories about Mercy House!
This book really made me think about the way that I’m living my life. One of my favorite concepts (and chapter titles!) in this book was, “Is this extra a blessing or a test?”. This book isn’t for the faint of heart. It will mess with you, bring you to tears and break you down at times. But, it’s a message that we desperately need to hear.
Each chapter of this book starts with a great quote about giving. The chapters are filled with the family’s personal stories and practical application. At the end of each chapter, you’ll find a conversation Kristen had with one of her family members. These questions were really eye-opening, I loved seeing her kids’ view on their life! The questions are meant to spark discussion in your own family and man, are they in depth!
As a Mom trying to raise my kids to shun the status-quo and pursue the radical heart of Jesus, I appreciated this book more than you could ever know. I challenge you to get a copy of this book on your shelf asap!
