*I received a copy of this book in exchange for my honest review. All opinions are my own.
Race is something that’s been in the headlines for the last couple of years. It seems America is at war over color. This book by Katie Ganshert provided a great look at all perspectives of this fight.
No One Ever Asked follows multiple characters. A woman who is on the PTA board for a school about to be merged with an inner city school, a teacher who is teaching in the midst of the merger, a mother who recently adopted an African-American child and more.
This book is written in Jodi Picoult form, with the various characters telling their sides of a story. I love this style of writing as it makes me feel connected to each character. The characters are so complex and different. I thought each story was very accurately told. This book was very thought provoking and I appreciated the perspective it brought to my life. It showed me how to walk in someone else’s shoes.
This book has a dramatic ending that I loved. All in all, this was a great read.
