Summer always comes with a good adventure or two. Our first adventure happened last weekend when my husband and I took our boys to the zoo. We had SO much fun learning about the animals and it was great to get out of town. Plus, that leisurely 15-minute stroll in the bookstore was simply good for the soul. 😉
When you’re traveling with little ones, it’s important to be prepared. Not having what you need can waste precious time and money. Here’s a peek inside of my diaper bag, plus a coupon that’s going to save you a lot on a necessity!
Lots of Snacks and Drinks
Not only do snacks and drinks keep hunger pains away, but they also prevent bad moods. I like to purchase a large bag of trail mix to dole out. I usually just pack reusable storage containers that are small enough for tiny hands to hold in the car. To save money, I forgo those pricey little juice bottles and buy one big one. It costs under $2 and it fills multiple sippies multiple times.
Even if it’s cloudy outside, sunscreen is still a must-have for your diaper bag.I use a kid-friendly spray kind.
Favorite Toys and Books
A favorite book or toy can go a long way! I pull these out at restaurants or when the car rides are getting a little too noisy.
I always bring an ibuprofen and some motion sickness medication for my sons. I also bring a calming essential oil to settle them down at the end of a long day.
Extra Clothes and Diapers
Always. Always. ALWAYS pack way more spare outfits and diapers than you need. Things happen when you least expect them. Cloth diapers are what my family usually uses, but during the summer we like to relax and use disposables. We prefer to use Luvs brand because they hold up well and they have Night Lock Plus® so they don’t leak even on super long car rides. They have stretchy tabs and a shape that’s made to fit little bodies perfectly, so they’re comfy! With so many adventures to take, there’s not really any time for silly leaks!
Disposable diapers, like all aspects of parenting can get expensive. Luvs is giving us two chances to save money this month. In this week’s Sunday paper, you’ll see a coupon in the Brandsaver from P&G insert for $2 off any package or box of diapers. The coupon expires June 10th, 2017 so you have plenty of time to use it.
Sometimes, I forget to look at the Sunday paper. If you’re like myself, you might prefer to print this coupon at home. You can do so by clicking this link. The printable coupon is only good today through the end of the day May 27th, 2017 so print yours as soon as possible. You do have 30 days after you print the coupon to use it. 🙂 You should be able to use your coupon at any mass retailer or store.
