To knows someone’s heart, we need to understand their intentions.
This also applies to God.
A lot of times, we like to have concrete answers and shy away from things that we’re not quite sure about. We like to focus on interpreting things in ways that we can understand fully because let’s be honest..the idea of not understanding something completely isn’t too appealing.
Lately, I’ve been learning that a lot of verses that I thought I knew were actually taken out of context. With good intentions, mind you, but the simple reasoning behind the confusion was a misinterpretation of Hebrew/Greek words.
I’ve been so hungry lately to learn about God’s true heart, so when I saw this Bible I knew i had to give it a shot!
The NKJV Word Study Bible is different than any other Bible I’ve seen. It takes keywords from each passage and gives you the true meaning behind them. It takes into consideration the cultural background and the context. I’m learning so much about the heart of God and I’m honestly loving God so much more now that I know His heart behind certain passages.
For example, Psalm 23. God is referred to as a Father throughout the Bible, which leads many of us to view Him as strict. This is influenced a lot by the type of Dad you had growing up. But, the keywords in Psalm 23 are the same words they used to use to describe a Mother’s gentle love and tenderness towards her child. That little tidbit blew my mind completely.
The Bible also has concordances, topic studies and maps in the back making it a great study Bible.
This is such a great resource if you want to go deeper in your study of God’s Word.
