One of my main forms of encouragement is a good book. I can’t tell you how many times I’ve been going through a difficult parenting season and a book has spoken words of refreshment to my soul. The books I’m sharing today have made Mom life easier in one way or another. They’ve provided balm to Mama guilt, given me the tools I need to create a routine, shown me how to eat healthily or given me spiritual encouragement in a dry season. Simply put, they help me simplify Mom life.
This is a grace-filled approach to healthy living. When I follow this plan I have energy, feel good and am able to start losing weight. Plus, the sisters are super friendly in their approach to writing and this is totally low-maintenance compared to calorie counting.
This book was a total Godsend to me when I found out that I was expecting tiny number 2. Crystal handles a busy life with so much class and grace and it was amazing to hear how she does it. I learned to set goals that I can actually accomplish, manage my home, use what time I have wisely and so much more. Ahh. Life made a little simpler.
Sink Reflections is basically a how-to guide on controlling the clutter chaos that builds in our homes. If you’re someone who spends way too much time cleaning each day, you’ll appreciate the simplicity of the routines. Everything gets done and you have more time to relax and do what really matters.
This book is like coffee and a good bar of chocolate for the Mama’s soul. Seriously, it is that good! It’s an easy read filled with tips handling your emotions, reducing Mommy guilt and pressing into what God has for you when your life looks different than expected. After reading this book, I gave myself more grace and was able to breathe a bit deeper.
Courtney is so much fun. Search her name on Youtube and you’ll be greeted with the most joyful, Jesus-girl ever. In Women Living Well, she shares her tips for finding joy in the Lord, your husband, homemaking, and your kids. I think of this book as a crash course, like “Wifey/Mama 101” or something because it literally covers every single aspect.
I’d love to have Sally Clarkson as my personal mentor, just putting that out there. She is so hospitable and she really creates a beautiful haven wherever she is. This book was so much fun to read because it gives her tips for making our homes “a place of belonging and becoming”. I found a lot of purpose in my role as a homemaker after reading this book and was so inspired to start putting little touches of wonder into my boys’ day.
Okay. This is an oldie, but it is so good. When I was first starting to learn how to live off less, this was the book I gleaned the most from. The Economides family are wizards when it comes to saving money and living a happy life while doing it. Whether you want to save on clothes or food, you’ll learn some new tricks.
What books help you rock Mom life? I’m always expanding my reading list, so share your favorites!
