In a world full of distraction, we need books like Rachel Macy Stafford’s “Hands Free Life”. As a busy Mama who gets caught up in the wrong little things, this book was healing salve to my soul.
Rachel speaks from her own experiences with being hands on. Hands on social media, the smartphone and perfection. Hands on is sort of a metaphor for control in my mind. I think the desire to control life and make it perfect plagues most Mama’s in one way or another. Rachel was distracted with the wrong things in life, until one day her little ones opened up her eyes to what really matters.
Hands Free Life gives you a list of nine habits to replace your old ways. These habits help you intentionally focus on what truly matters in life. You’ll learn to discard old ways of thinking and adopt new daily habits, which will open up your eyes to a slower, more fulfilling way of life. This book taught me how to pursue a life that I love, slow down, and focus on my little ones.
Rachel speaks with transparency and I rode a roller-coaster of emotions as I read this book. I saw a lot of myself in Rachel and reading her story gave me hope that I too could change and create a more intentional life for myself. I want to invest in the things that matter and enjoy the present.
This book is a total game-changer and I wish I could send a copy to every Mama I know!
