I haven’t been this excited to review a book in a long time! I easily count this as one of the best books I’ve read in a few years. I love it so much that I’d give every one of you a copy if I could!
The Lifegiving Home is a book that teaches women to create homes that are welcoming places of “belonging and becoming.” It’s written by Sally Clarkson and her daughter, Sarah. I think this book really speaks to a woman’s soul, because what woman doesn’t want her home to be the best it can be?
Sally gives practical advice to ladies for creating a welcoming atmosphere, great traditions, a hospitable environment and a place where your family can grow into who God created them to be. Her daughter’s perspective is intriguing because she grew up in the amazing home her Mother created. Sarah gives her unique twist on the traditions she brought to her own home.
This book starts out by laying the foundation as to why we need a lifegiving home. Then it is divided into monthly sections, so you can focus on something new every month. For example, January’s focus is on creating the rhythms, routines and rituals that lay the foundation for the rest of the year. Sally gives great techniques that you can apply to each month to fulfill that months focus.
You’ll be inspired by the imagery in the book. I felt as if I was in Sally’s home so many times while reading and quite frankly, I wished I was! This book has inspired me to create more than just a house for my family, but a home.
*I received this book for free in exchange of my honest review. All opinions are my own.*
